ADEM’s SMIW-9 station identifies the Crooked Creek embayment upstream of the Winston County Road 22 bridge. The station description is a reference point, not a property-search polygon.
Review the MLS lake-body field and the property map together. This collection uses the exact Crooked Creek label; a similarly named branch is not automatically included. If a property’s label and map appear inconsistent, ask for a location check before treating the creek name as settled.
Follow the actual driving route to the parcel, then inspect the route from the home or proposed building site to the water. Ask about any shared-road agreement, recorded access easement and dock or shoreline authorization. Proximity on a map alone does not describe the usable route or the maintenance obligations you would take on.
For an existing home, compare condition, layout and the improvements serving the shoreline. For a lot, request recorded restrictions and utility and wastewater information before committing to a particular design. Check current rental rules separately if rental use is part of your plan; the Crooked Creek label does not resolve that question.
Listings are grouped by the lake-body name supplied to the MLS. Missing or inconsistent labels can leave relevant properties out; browse the full Smith Lake search or request a location check.
This search uses the connected MLS. Lake-body labels are available for home and land records; the connected commercial class has no equivalent field. Property types and prices can be narrowed above. The full Smith Lake search remains available when a label is missing.
